The AutoExe stuff is very nice--the leather is soft and rich, though the stitching isn't perfectly uniform. The AutoExe red stitching is a little brighter than the boot stitching and OEM stitching, but the difference isn't as big as it seems in the pictures. Overall, I'm very happy with this interior refresh. It feels like a new car.

HKS Hi-Power Cat-Back Exhaust with Titanium Tip for Mazda RX8 (Series 1 & 2, 2003-2012)
I love my setup. Haha had cops give me the thumbs up at a red light. Lol
The rotary engine is acutely sensitive to everything happening between the airbox and the throttle body. Dirty filtration, a degraded MAF sensor or a weeping hose all show up immediately in idle quality, and throttle response and fuel economy suffer as a result. The Mazda RX8 intake parts listed here span the full inlet path, address a single failed component or plan a considered upgrade without hunting across multiple suppliers.
Routine maintenance of the RX8 air intake starts with the filter and works outward. A fresh RX8 performance air filter restores filtration efficiency and keeps abrasive particulates away from the apex seals, a consideration that matters more on a rotary than on a piston engine. Hoses and ducting harden and crack with age, and an RX8 intake suction kit addresses these in one go rather than chasing individual splits.
Sensors and solenoids are equally important across the range of RX8 intake parts. The MAF sensor governs fuelling across the entire rev range, and a reading that has drifted even slightly will skew the fuel map, blunting response across the board.
If you are sourcing an RX8 MAF sensor for an Australian-specification car, confirm the part against your Series fitment before ordering. An RX8 intake solenoid replacement is worth investigating whenever idle hunting or fault codes point toward the intake control circuit.
Owners planning upgrades beyond a like-for-like swap have several directions available depending on the build brief:
The filter, inlet pipe, hoses, sensors and solenoids all interact. Replacing one worn component while leaving a cracked hose in place limits the benefit of the new part and can make diagnosis harder next time a fault appears.
When working through the full set of Mazda RX8 intake parts, inspect each section of the tract while it is accessible and replace hardware that is marginal rather than waiting for a confirmed failure. That approach keeps the inlet system honest and the rotary running as it should. For official Mazda vehicle and owner information, visit Mazda Australia.
The RX8 intake range covers the full air path, including performance air filters, ram air and cold air intake kits, intake suction hose and ducting kits, mass air flow (MAF) sensors, intake solenoids and associated mounting hardware. This means you can address a single worn item or refresh the entire intake system in one order.
Not every intake issue starts with the filter or pipework. When diagnosing an intake-related fault on an RX8, also inspect the MAF sensor and intake solenoid, as these control components are common sources of problems. Identifying the specific failed part before ordering helps avoid replacing one item while leaving another questionable component in place.
An RX8 intake suction kit addresses the hoses and ducting within the intake tract rather than the filter or sensors alone. Over time these hoses can crack, collapse or develop air leaks that upset fuelling and idle quality. If your ducting shows signs of age or damage, replacing it as part of an intake refresh is worthwhile.
Yes. Cold air intake and ram air intake kits are available for the RX8 and suit owners who want a revised inlet arrangement as part of a more focused intake setup. Check each product listing carefully to confirm the kit suits your specific RX8 application before ordering.
If you are already disturbing the intake tract for a filter change or hose replacement, it is a good opportunity to inspect the MAF sensor. A worn or contaminated MAF sensor can cause rough running and poor throttle response on the RX8, so replacing it while access is clear avoids repeat disassembly later.
Yes, approaching the intake as a system rather than replacing a single component in isolation is generally more effective. While you have access to the intake tract, inspecting and replacing worn hoses, sensors and hardware alongside the primary part produces a tidier, more reliable result and reduces the chance of a related fault appearing shortly after.
Check the individual product listing for its stated application, and compare the part with the unit currently fitted to your car. The RX8 was produced in Series 1 and Series 2 variants, and some intake components differ between them, so confirming the correct application before ordering is important.
