You won't have any issues with the airbag or electronics. Make sure you get the right wheel--I bought my S2 wheel from MazMart. I installed mine just the other week, and I love the feel. It was a huge upgrade from stock.

CUSCO has earned a strong reputation among Japanese performance engineers for building chassis and suspension components that genuinely change how a car moves. For RX8 owners, that reputation translates into parts designed around real structural and dynamic goals.
An RX8 rear strut brace tightens the rear platform. In addition, front bracing reduces flex at the towers. Meanwhile, adjustable coilovers give suspension a properly tunable foundation that suits both road and track use.
Whether you are starting with a single brace or planning a full suspension overhaul, every CUSCO product starts from the same place: measurable improvement in chassis behaviour.
The RX8 platform responds well to bracing. Because reducing flex between the suspension mounting points lets the tyres do their job more consistently, you feel this most on corner entry and through direction changes. A Cusco Type OS brace is engineered to a specific geometry. It also ties the strut towers together without interfering with under-bonnet access or adding unnecessary weight. As a result, the difference shows up in the precision of your steering and your confidence through a committed corner.
Fitting a rear strut brace applies the same principle at the opposite end. Therefore, less twist through the rear subframe means the rotary’s power reaches the road more cleanly.
CUSCO’s coilover range is a natural companion to any bracing upgrade. For example, Cusco RX8 coilovers give you independent adjustment of ride height and damping. You can, moreover, dial in a setup that matches your tyre choice and driving style. The Street Zero S coilovers are a particularly well-regarded option for owners who want adjustability. However, they also maintain a realistic level of daily-use comfort. That balance suits a car that often doubles as both weekend weapon and regular transport.
When bracing and suspension are chosen as a system rather than in isolation, the improvement in handling consistency is substantially more than either part delivers alone.
Owners in Australia looking to buy Cusco RX8 parts can check individual product listings for full fitment details and specifications. Also, confirming each part against your build at the listing stage keeps the upgrade purposeful. Finally, CUSCO parts availability can shift over time. If a specific component such as an RX8 rear strut brace is on your list, it pays to move on it when it is in stock.
The CUSCO range for the RX8 covers chassis bracing and suspension components, including rear strut braces and coilovers. Key products include the CUSCO Type OS brace and Street Zero S coilovers. Check individual product listings to confirm fitment for your specific series and build.
A rear strut brace ties the top mounts of the rear suspension together, reducing flex in the body shell under cornering loads. On the RX8's lightweight chassis this translates to more consistent rear-end behaviour and sharper turn-in response, particularly on back roads or track days where body rigidity is worked harder.
The CUSCO Type OS designation applies to specific brace positions in the CUSCO lineup. Check the individual product listing for the Type OS brace to confirm whether it is a front strut brace, rear strut brace, or another chassis point, as CUSCO produces bracing for multiple locations on the RX8.
Yes, and combining them is a logical step. CUSCO Street Zero S coilovers let you dial in ride height and spring rate, while a strut brace reduces chassis flex at the same end of the car. Planning both together means each component works in the same direction rather than one masking a weakness the other exposes.
Fitment can vary between Series 1 and Series 2 RX8 builds. Always check the individual product listing for the specific CUSCO component you are considering, as some parts are designed for one series only. Confirming series compatibility before purchasing avoids fitment issues at installation.
A bolt-on strut brace is generally a straightforward installation requiring basic hand tools and no cutting or fabrication. The brace mounts to existing strut tower hardware. Having the car on a flat surface and confirming torque settings against the supplied instructions is recommended before driving.
The right answer depends on your current setup and intended use. Many owners start with the end of the car that feels least composed under hard cornering and add the complementary brace once the first improvement is felt. Assessing bracing alongside your suspension, tyres and driving use gives the most purposeful result.
