HKS Hi-Power Cat-Back Exhaust with Titanium Tip for Mazda RX8 (Series 1 & 2, 2003-2012)
I'm running it with the stock cat, and it's relatively loud, but not obnoxious. I haven't heard it compared to the borla though. My wife can hear me from about a quarter mile a way if she's outside and I get on it. At idle and just cruising, it's fairly tame. I haven't had any trouble with it or any unwanted attention. It is not raspy at all and doesn't bellow as much as say a Greddy SP2. It's actually only a tad louder than an SP2, so if you've heard one, you can get an idea for sound.

OHLINS MAS-MI00S1 Road & Track Coilover Suspension for Mazda RX8 (Series 1 & 2, 2003-2012)
I use the Ohlins coilovers on my RX8, which is mainly used for street use and I found the standard spring rates to be too soft in the rear but the fronts to be fine. I changed my rear springs to about 350lbs/in and it feels pretty good to me now.
Grey is one of the most forgiving and versatile colour choices across an RX8 build. Whether you are refreshing worn cabin trim or adding a styling detail, grey RX8 parts let the overall design language do the talking. The right shade holds a build together rather than pulling the eye to any single component.
Grey is not a single shade. For example, matte grey, metallic grey and painted mid-grey can read very differently next to one another. This is especially true across mixed materials such as painted plastic, fabric and brushed metal. Before selecting any component, therefore, consider where it sits and what surrounds it. Also ask whether the finish, matte or gloss, warm or cool, will complement those adjacent surfaces.
OEM components are the natural choice when factory-correct fit and known new-condition quality are the priority. Because a genuine Mazda part is manufactured to the original specification, colour matching to surrounding factory trim is as accurate as it can be.
That also avoids the faded or worn finish that commonly affects used OEM trim pulled from older cars. See Mazda’s official parts and accessories information for further guidance on genuine part availability.
However, grey Mazda RX8 parts in aftermarket form broaden the options for owners after a different material or finish. They also cover styling directions that genuine parts do not. Therefore, check each product listing carefully to confirm the intended application. Make sure the described finish aligns with your car’s current colour palette and build direction.
The most considered builds treat colour selection as a whole-area decision rather than a part-by-part one. When sourcing grey Mazda RX8 parts, mentally map every surface in the same zone. Consider adjacent plastics, nearby painted panels, seat material and any hardware in the same sightline.
A shade that photographs as a match can read differently in person. Taking that wider view before ordering saves time and delivers a result that feels deliberate from every angle.
Both genuine Mazda OEM parts and aftermarket options are available in grey for the RX8. OEM parts offer factory-correct fit, finish and new-condition reliability, while aftermarket grey parts can introduce different materials, textures or styling details. Check each product listing to confirm the specific shade, finish and intended application before purchasing.
Grey is not a single uniform shade - it spans matte, textured, painted and metallic finishes across plastics, fabrics and metal surfaces. Compare the part's listed finish type against your existing cabin trim, and where possible inspect both in natural light, since artificial lighting can make shades appear closer than they are.
Grey works well when the goal is a restrained, cohesive finish where upgraded or refreshed components sit naturally alongside factory trim rather than drawing attention to themselves. It suits both factory-inspired interiors and neutral exterior paint colours, making it a practical choice for builds that favour a clean, considered presentation.
Genuine Mazda parts availability varies by component and can become harder to source over time. Where a grey OEM part is listed on this site, it is a new genuine item - free from the uncertain wear, fading or repair history that comes with used trim parts. Check individual product listings for current availability.
Plan the finish as a complete area rather than matching one component in isolation. Surrounding surfaces - paint, plastics, fabric and metal - can each carry a subtly different grey tone, and the sheen level (matte versus gloss versus metallic) affects how they read together. Viewing all affected components side by side in natural light before committing gives the most reliable result.
Grey exterior details tend to complement neutral and cool-toned paint colours most naturally, supporting a subtle finish without introducing an unrelated colour. On warmer or more vivid paint tones the result depends heavily on the specific shade and finish of the part, so assess the combination against your car's actual paint before purchasing.
